Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is becoming essential for the Asia-Pacific aviation sector, which is projected to be the fastest-growing air travel market in the world. Countries including Australia, Singapore, and Japan are already advancing through strong policy planning and project development, while New Zealand, Malaysia, and the South Pacific are beginning to establish their presence.

By building robust supply chains, fostering technological innovation, and implementing supportive frameworks, SAF can significantly contribute to meeting national and regional net-zero targets, while unlocking new economic opportunities across APAC.

Although challenges remain in scaling production, financing projects, and ensuring certification standards, close cooperation between governments, airlines, producers, investors, and technology leaders will be vital. To drive these discussions and shape the next phase of aviation decarbonization, the SAF APAC Summit 2026 (#SAFAPAC26) will be held on 8–9 July 2026 in Melbourne, Australia, bringing together over 500 decision-makers from across the value chain.
